    A perfect set of glasses and decanter by Geoffrey Baxter.  No chips or scratches to the glass. The decanter has a teak stopper top (which appears unused) with squared body and textured finish. Each glass in the same design raised on a circular foot.

    Decanter measures approx. 23cm x 10cm x 10cm.

    Glasses measures approx. 11cm x 6cm diameter. 

    Geoffrey Baxter was one of the outstanding British glass designers of the post-war period. From 1954 until 1980 he worked for Britain's leading handmade glass manufacturer, Whitefriars Glass, designing a wide range of domestic glass, including tableware and ornamental glass. With radical shapes and bright psychedelic colours he helped put Whitefriars Glass on the post-war fashion map and became responsible for much of the company’s success during the 20th Century.

    Nick Orsler trained at Hornsey College of Art in London, and then did a degree in Industrial design at Leicester University.  He set up a small studio in London with the support of a Crafts Council award. Stockists of Nick's work have included Harrods International glass department, Liberty's One off department and the Designers Guild.

    Eric Leaper Pottery of Cornwall petrol glaze large platter

    Dimensions 36.5cm x 21.5cm.

    Eric Leaper (1921-2002) studied at the Central School of Art.  He set up his own pottery in Dorset.  In 1954 he moved to Newlyn, Cornwall where he started the Pottery known as Leaper Potter. Here, Eric was as well known by the Potters and fisherman for throwing parties as pots.  Newlyn lasted until 1980s and it was during this time Eric developed and produced the multi-coloured 'splash' designs for which he is most famous.

    Celtic Pottery was started in Mousehall, Cornwall by Bill and Maggie Fisher in the mid 1960s.  They developed the Celtic folk design which was popular in the midcentury.  Maggie moved the pottery to Newlyn in th 1970s where she produced the 'medallion' range which this decanter is from.
