A mid-century West German pottery vase.

A perfect set of glasses and decanter by Geoffrey Baxter.  No chips or scratches to the glass. The decanter has a teak stopper top (which appears unused) with squared body and textured finish. Each glass in the same design raised on a circular foot.

Decanter measures approx. 23cm x 10cm x 10cm.

Glasses measures approx. 11cm x 6cm diameter. 

Geoffrey Baxter was one of the outstanding British glass designers of the post-war period. From 1954 until 1980 he worked for Britain's leading handmade glass manufacturer, Whitefriars Glass, designing a wide range of domestic glass, including tableware and ornamental glass. With radical shapes and bright psychedelic colours he helped put Whitefriars Glass on the post-war fashion map and became responsible for much of the company’s success during the 20^th Century.

A lovely little jug produced in West Germany in the 1960s with a variety of greens, browns and silver glazes fired over one another to produce a layered effect

Eric Leaper Pottery of Cornwall petrol glaze large platter

Dimensions 36.5cm x 21.5cm.

Eric Leaper (1921-2002) studied at the Central School of Art.  He set up his own pottery in Dorset.  In 1954 he moved to Newlyn, Cornwall where he started the Pottery known as Leaper Potter. Here, Eric was as well known by the Potters and fisherman for throwing parties as pots.  Newlyn lasted until 1980s and it was during this time Eric developed and produced the multi-coloured 'splash' designs for which he is most famous.
