Whitefriars, London glassworks, Drunken Bricklayers vase designed by Geoffrey Baxter in the 'Textured' series. This is pattern number 9673. In excellent condition.
Geoffrey Baxter was one of the most influential and significant British glass designers of the 20th century. Joining the design team of Whitefriars in 1954, Baxter produced numerous works, including ornamental glass, domestic glassware and tableware. His 'textured' glass range, designed in 1966 is often cited as his most important work compared with the simpler tones of previously popular Scandinavian inspired glassware.
