    Kenny (1941-99) is best known as a sculptor, he has also made important reliefs and drawings as well as sculptural constructions in wood and metal.

    Having studied at the Liverpool College of Art and Slade School of Fine Art, Kenny taught at Goldsmiths College 1966–68 and the Slade 1981–82 and was awarded RA in 1986. Kenny completed many public commissions and exhibitions including retrospectives at Wilhelm-Lehmbruck Museum, Duisburg (1984), Hansard Gallery in Southampton (1990), and Dulwich Picture Gallery (1994) following a residency there from 1992 to 1993. He died on 28 December 1999 and is buried in Highgate cemetery in London.

    Signed and dated on front, title on back. 

    Dannat (1915-2009) started his career as a chartered surveyor.  After army service, in 1944, he entered a career as a music critic for the News Chronicle.  Dannat's produced his earliest art works in 1956, the year he left the chronicle.  From the early 1960s he began a life long association with the Cornish painters, in particular John Wells, Denis Mitchell, Alexander Mckenzie and Roy Conn.  From the early 1970s he became a member of the Penwith society and The Newlyn society and began exhibiting at both galleries. A show was held in conjunction with Wells and Mckenzie was held at the Orion gallery, penzance in 1975. Going forward he exhibited widely in London and America.  His many solo exhibitions culminated in three major shows at Osborne Samuel Gallery, London in 2005, 2008 and 2010.

    In 2015 to celebrate Dannat's 100 birthday, a number of major exhibitions were held around the country.  Pallant house Gallery,  Katherine House Gallery, Southampton City Art Gallery, Dorset County Museum, Osborne Samuel Gallery, London.

    This lovely little midcentury writing desk has been fully restored. It has delicate tapered legs and a new pistachio coloured vinyl top.  The teak has been stripped and oiled to reveal the rich, warm grain.  The desk is sturdy and the drawer opens smoothly.

    This stunning sculptural lamp has been designed in the style of The Memphis Group movement. Founded in Milan in 1981 by Ettore Sottsass.  The lamp has been produced in turned wood and the base is painted in a speckled design of grey black and white. 

    The wood and paint are in excellent condition with no chips.  The white tapered lamp shade is new, made from cotton and folded in design.

    The black lamp holder has a crack that has been repaired and is in good working order (clearly photographed).

    The lamp is being sold as a decorative item.  It is in full working order. We have not carried out electrical test ourselves. The item was bought at auction with a passed electrical safety test sticker dating from 4/5/2021 (photographed).  Buyers should conduct there own electrical safety tests.

    A Scandinavian Modern vase designed by Nils Thorsson for Royal Copenhagen of Denmark in the 1960s. Thorsson's large oval vase in neutral shades of brown, beige, and white features abstracted fish and flower motifs framed by decorative borders. The midcentury vase is in excellent condition.  The makers mark and batch number clear on the underside.

    Nils Johan Thorvald Thorsson (1898–1975) was a Swedish-Danish ceramic artist, a prolific designer, and the Artistic Director of Royal Copenhagen. Thorsson's work exemplifies mid-century Danish modernism; he designed the Baca production range in the 1960s.

    Designed by Scheurich in Germany in the 1970s, this large vase is a fat lava design. It's glaze is terrecotta on the bottom two thirds and high gloss brown above.  Very reminiscent of the time period it was designed in. 

    The base is marked with the product ID - W Germany 553 38.

    There are no chips or scratches on the vase.

    This large fat lava floor vase was manufactured by Scheurich in Germany in the 1970s. The base is clearly marked W. Germany with the vase series number 285-53. The vase is ochre in colour with a distinct abstract onion pattern. The vase is in excellent condition with no cracks or chips.
