Arne Jacobsen (1902-1971) for Fritz Hansen, a pair of 'Swan' chairs upholstered in brown leather on cruciform columns and four-star bases, circa 1958-1961, stamped to underside of the leather
These chairs can be dates between 1959 and 1962 by the presence if the lever in the base, the high screw location, presence of thick feet, the ink stamp and the fact there is no cast mark in the base.
These are current photos and show how the leather is worn. The foam has also disintegrated beneath the leather. I am reluctant to reupholster them as they are so rare. If you are interested in viewing them or want to discuss having them reupholstered, please contact us.
